Steel Guitar Club of Victoria TX

Post by Randy Boyd »

Hello, Everyone!
We’re planning on having the Steel Club of Victoria this coming Sunday afternoon from 2-5:00. Same venue - Gateway to the Gulf RV Park on the Hwy 59 access road. Be careful because there’s a lot of construction going on there.
As always, it’s open to the public and free of charge. You can bring a snack if you like. It’s open to all musicians, not just steel players, but of course we highlight the steel.
We will observe social distancing guidelines.
See you there!

Jim,
David Waters is recovering from COVID now. He just tested negative and is at home. He is still somewhat weak but is regaining his strength daily. He plans on playing at church this coming Sunday.

On another note, we had 3 steels at our Steel Club meeting 2 weeks ago. Roy Glaze, Bill McCumber, and yours truly. The band was Harlan Kubos on bass, Ralph Salazar drums, John Sullivan rhythm guitar, David Waters guitar, and Henry Hosek on fiddle. Also, we had a good listening audience of about 30 or so.

Another report: Keith Junot finally received his first chemo treatment this past Monday and is doing fairly well. He is in Methodist Hospital in downtown Houston. Prayers appreciated.
Thank you,
Randy
