What is the standard gap between the pickup and strings? Also what effect does it have on tone when the pickup is closer to the strings? Further away from strings?

2 quarters stacked most guys keep them straight telonic pickups are .20 to start. Lowering the pickup less volume more bass raise more volume brighter. In a round about way.
I tilt my pickups toward the changer running quarter and a dime in front and quarter and nickel in the back closes to the changer.

Well, with all that inflation, it may now take 3 quarter or even a full Dollar to do the job! :D :lol:

What's "two quarters" in inches? In millimeters?

Thickness of a U.S. quarter is 1.75mm

According to the U.S. Mint (https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-medal ... ns/quarter) one quarter is 1.75mm thick. In inches that is 0.0689 inches.

Thanks Derek. You have taken care of my (self inflicted problem). It's an absolute previledge to own and play the best sounding guitar on the market, The (Rittenberry Prestege) has that belltone that elludes many other guitars.
I love the sweet highs and the growl of the lower end, and not only that it plays with the easy of a hot knife going through butter! Thank you for the awesome help you have given me!
