delighted
to receive an award certificate in the mail today. I had never heard of this society or its awards, but I am honestly humbled (or perhaps humiliated) to have been singled out like this. The certificate reads:
quote:

The Short-Notice AvailabilityPedalist Society
In recognition for achievements, through creation of the Steel Guitar Forum, in relieving the neuroses and ennui of chronically under-employed pedalists,
Bobby Lee Quasar
is hereby honored, revered, and awarded ascent to the sublime position of

Best Steel Player Available on Short Notice
with all the rights, benefits and emoluments to which he may, or may not, legally be entitled.

The award is signed by one "Herb Steiner", who I must assume is some sort of bigwig in The Short Notice Availability Pedalist Society. Thanks Herb, and thanks to all of you who voted for me. Like I tell the bandleaders, "When the guy with the diamond horseshoe ring turns you down, give me a call. I'm available."
