Do double-sided bullet bars exist ?

Post by Stanislav Paskalev »

I find myself occasionally wanting a double tip on the lower strings during a reverse slant. When using a small bar rotating it swiftly on the strings is tricky as it tends to fall and catch between them. And then I have to rotate it again when the next double tip on the higher string comes.

I wonder if anyone ever made a double-sided bullet bar ? That'd be an interesting bar to try.

Thanks Rick. I found a UK machinist that sells brass bars and I've asked him if he would cut one for me.

If the one in the photo is yours, how do you like it playing it with ?

It’s ok … does feel good in your hand …

I’ve never mastered the “bass side” split slant … 🤪 … so I’m sure I didn’t get the best of what this bar has to offer …

If I remember correctly, one of Scotty’s guys made them and sold them through the store …

Aloha!

I’d be really interested in trying a brass bar! Would you be kind enough to share the contact info of the UK machinist?

Mahalo in advance.

Hey Michael, sure. Here's a link to the seller on Ebay. I used the contact option and after a day or so he send me a few photos of the ready-made brass bar, which I then ordered - for the same price as the normal bar.
